High-Capacity IP Transit
over the G-Core Backbone
Benefit from high bandwidth, low latency and upstream DDoS protection with the IP Transit service delivered over G-Core's 200+ Tbps global backbone infrastructure. Direct metro Ethernet connectivity to the Istanbul PoP.
High-Capacity Access to the Global Internet
IP Transit is a connectivity model in which a network operator or data center provider offers global internet access to its customers over upstream (Tier-1) backbone networks. With IP Transit, your traffic is carried over high-capacity backbone lines and access to the entire internet is provided.
In traditional internet connections, traffic passes through many intermediate networks to reach its destination. With IP Transit, your traffic connects directly to the backbone, minimizing the number of intermediate hops, reducing latency and increasing bandwidth capacity. This model is critical especially for data centers, ISPs, game servers and high-traffic infrastructures.
- Direct backbone access to global internet routes
- Number of intermediate networks decreases, latency drops
- High bandwidth and scalable capacity
- A professional connectivity model for data centers and ISPs
Advantages of the IP Transit Service
The key advantages provided by our IP Transit service delivered over the G-Core global backbone infrastructure.
200+ Tbps Backbone Capacity
G-Core's global backbone network has 200+ Tbps capacity. For your high-volume traffic needs, strong connectivity is provided with scalable bandwidth.
Istanbul PoP Connection
Thanks to our direct metro Ethernet connection to the G-Core Istanbul PoP, traffic within Turkey is carried with 3-8 ms latency. Domestic traffic is routed without leaving the country.
Upstream DDoS Protection
DDoS protection is included in the IP Transit service. Attack traffic is absorbed at the backbone level and blocked before reaching your infrastructure; no line saturation occurs.
BGP Session Support
You can establish a BGP session with your own AS number and IP blocks. Provide a flexible network configuration by managing your routing policies according to your needs.
Tier-1 Carrier Connections
Thanks to G-Core's direct connections to Tier-1 carriers and major internet exchange points (IXPs), your traffic reaches its destination via the shortest path.
SLA Guarantee
Network availability, latency and packet loss rates are guaranteed under SLA. Your service continuity is kept under guarantee.
A Global Backbone Network with 200+ Tbps Capacity
G-Core is a global technology provider offering high-capacity network infrastructure, CDN and DDoS protection solutions worldwide. Built on a backbone infrastructure with 200+ Tbps capacity, G-Core includes direct connections to hundreds of data centers and internet exchange points worldwide.
Thanks to its distributed PoP architecture, traffic is routed from the point closest to the user. With direct connections to Tier-1 carriers and major internet exchange points, it carries global internet traffic in the most efficient way. Our IP Transit service is delivered over this powerful infrastructure.
- 200+ Tbps global backbone capacity
- 210+ distributed PoP (Point of Presence) locations
- Direct connectivity to Tier-1 carriers
- CDN, edge computing and DDoS protection solutions
Low Latency with Direct Metro Ethernet
Our direct metro Ethernet connection to G-Core's Istanbul PoP provides a major advantage for Turkey-focused projects. Domestic traffic is routed via the Istanbul PoP without leaving the country and is carried with low latency around 3-8 ms.
This direct connection model is critical for game servers, real-time applications, financial systems and high-traffic web services. Your traffic isn't routed unnecessarily to different countries; it connects directly to the backbone.
- Direct metro Ethernet connection to the Istanbul PoP
- 3-8 ms latency for traffic within Turkey
- Domestic traffic is routed without leaving the country
- Optimized for game servers and real-time applications
Attack Traffic Is Blocked at the Backbone
Because our IP Transit service is delivered over the G-Core backbone infrastructure, upstream-level DDoS protection is included as standard. Attack traffic is absorbed and filtered at the backbone level before reaching your infrastructure.
With classic hosting providers, attack traffic first enters the network and is then attempted to be filtered with a local firewall. In that case, line capacity can fill up and a service outage occurs before reaching the filtering device. In the upstream model, since filtering happens at the backbone level, the risk of line saturation is eliminated.
- Attack traffic is blocked at the backbone before reaching the infrastructure
- Line capacity cannot be saturated with attack traffic
- An additional XDP-based protection layer at the edge level
- Much more effective than local firewall models

Frequently Asked Questions About IP Transit
Find answers to everything you're curious about — the IP Transit service, backbone infrastructure, BGP session, bandwidth options and network connectivity — here.
IP Transit is the bandwidth service that an internet service provider (ISP) or data center operator purchases from upstream (Tier-1) network operators to provide its customers with global internet access. With IP Transit, all your internet traffic is carried over high-capacity backbone lines and access to the global internet is provided.
IP Transit is a paid connectivity model purchased from a provider that gives access to all internet routes. Peering, on the other hand, is when two network operators directly exchange their own traffic with each other free of charge (settlement-free) or at low cost. While IP Transit provides global access, peering is generally limited to specific networks.
G-Core is a global backbone network provider with 200+ Tbps capacity worldwide. It has 210+ distributed PoP (Point of Presence) locations and direct connections to Tier-1 carriers. Because our IP Transit service is delivered over this infrastructure, high capacity, low latency and reliable global access are provided.
Thanks to our direct metro Ethernet connection to G-Core's Istanbul PoP, traffic within Turkey is carried with low latency around 3-8 ms. Because traffic is routed without leaving the country, low latency advantages are provided for both web services and game servers.
Yes, because our IP Transit service is delivered over the G-Core backbone, upstream-level DDoS filtering is included. Attack traffic is absorbed at the backbone level and blocked before reaching your infrastructure. An additional XDP-based protection layer at the edge level is also provided as standard.
Our IP Transit service offers customizable bandwidth options according to your needs. Capacity, commit ratio and burst limits are determined based on the requirements of your project. For detailed information and pricing, you can get in touch with our sales team.
Yes, BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) session setup is supported in our IP Transit service. You can perform BGP peering with your own AS number and IP blocks, and manage your routing policies according to your needs.
Yes, our IP Transit service is offered under SLA. Network availability, latency and packet loss rates are guaranteed. In case of a service interruption, a credit refund is provided according to SLA terms.
Tier-1 carriers are major network providers that form the global internet backbone and can access all other networks without purchasing transit. Thanks to G-Core's direct connections to Tier-1 carriers, your traffic reaches its destination via the shortest path without passing through intermediate networks, and latency is kept to a minimum.
Because the IP Transit service is customized to business needs, it is configured through one-on-one consultation rather than a standard plan structure. By reaching out to our sales team via phone, contact form or email, you can get detailed information on bandwidth, connectivity type and pricing.
